Ovarian Cyst Removal

Ovarian Cyst Removal

Ovarian cyst is a solid or fluid-filled sac or a pocket (cyst) inside or on the surface of an ovary.

Ovarian cysts normally disappear after a few months, but if they don’t, they may cause complications. The majority of ovarian cysts are asymptomatic. Menstrual abnormalities, discomfort during sex, and abnormal bowel movements are also possible side effects. Many cysts are self-healing. If not, there are options such as contraceptive pills or surgery. Ovarian cysts are divided into two categories: cysts in the ovary and cysts in the uterus.

Cysts that form as part of the menstrual cycle are known as functional ovarian cysts. They’re the most popular, and they’re typically harmless and only last a short time. Pathological Ovarian Cysts: These develop as a result of irregular cell growth and are much less common.  While some ovarian cysts may be cancerous, the majority of them are not. Cysts in postmenopausal women are often cancerous. Endometriosis may also cause cysts to form. An ovarian cyst normally only causes symptoms if it ruptures, becomes very large, or blocks the ovaries’ blood supply.
