Interval Growth Scan

Interval Growth Scan

A Growth Scan is usually performed between 28 and 32 weeks of pregnancy to measure your baby’s growth and the amount of liquor in your body. It is a common scanning technique used to monitor the baby’s growth during the third trimester.

Why Is It Done?

A growth scan is crucial for determining the fetus’s normal development within the womb.

A growth scan is used to decide whether the baby is stable by monitoring the baby’s weight and various body measurements, to learn about the baby’s position, to determine the amount of amniotic fluid present, to check the placenta’s position and maturity, to check the umbilical cord’s position, and to check the baby’s wellbeing and circulation. It also shows the appearance of a prior caesarean scar. It can also be used to keep track of multiple pregnancies.
