Laparoscopy

Laparoscopy is a diagnostic technique that allows the organs within the abdomen to be examined using a device called a laparoscope.

Since this procedure only requires a minor incision, it is both minimally invasive and involves only minimal risk. A laparoscope is a long, thin tube with a high-resolution camera and a high-intensity light in the front. The laparoscope is inserted through an incision in the abdominal wall and transmits images to a video display.
